Method of Research--Research Process

Introduction

When you master the art of research, you have obtained a life skill. Don’t’ believe me? Have you ever done research on a computer you wanted to buy? Or research a future career? For example, you needed to know what college and what classes you needed to succeed.  You apply these same skills when you are working on a research paper, presentation, discussion post, and more. Once you have mastered how to navigate through the linear research process, you realize that you just required a lifelong skill.

Although details vary from a research project to research project, you must develop a research strategy. In doing so, you will be able to focus on your topic, organize your search, manage your time, narrow down general information to more specific information, and realizing that you have become knowledgeable on the topic you are researching.

Remember that the research process takes days and not hours. You should not expect to complete all these steps in one day. Approaching this Research libguide thoughtfully, you will be able to pick a reasonable topic, research that topic, and compose a research project.
