Examining how lesbian, gay, and bisexual Christian clients’ perceptions of therapists’ cultural humility contribute to psychotherapy outcomes.Main Findings: Identifying therapist characteristics that may strengthen the working alliance and outcomes for individuals in general, and particularly for populations who have not been thoroughly studied, such as LGB Christians, is important for practice and for growth of the profession. Next Steps: As more is understood about the significance of cultural humility to the psychotherapy process with different populations, the following question arises: Can we learn to be culturally humble? The results of this research add to the literature in potentially suggesting a systemic shift in psychotherapy training that includes cultural humility; indeed, perhaps cultural humility should be added to the common factors model of psychotherapeutic efficacy.
